Local High School Football Players Injured

On October 18th, 2011 five Thrall High School football players were struck by a motor vehicle while standing at a corner near Texas 79 and County Road 424, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

The incident occurred after a woman approached a stop sign near the school as the sun was going down. Apparently, the angle of the sun shielded her view of a truck that was headed east on Texas 79. As a result, she slammed into the truck after stopping at the stop sign. The truck then slid across the road and into the students, who were immediately rushed to the local hospital.

The fifteen and sixteen year-old boys suffered several broken bones, and their return to the playing field this season is in question. This collision occurs at the same spot that several citizens have been petitioning for a traffic light because of the heavy traffic and nearby school.

If you or a loved one has been in a pedestrian accident, car accident, motorcycle accident, truck accident, or bicycle accident, please call an experienced Austin personal injury lawyer immediately that can help you understand your legal rights and options.
